Vehicle Chassis

FSI-QPOAcad. year: 1999/2000

The subject acquaints the student with design principles of undercarriage groups and components of motor vehicles, in particular the axles, the steering mechanism, the brake mechanisms, the systems of their control and regulation, systems of springing and damping, tires and car wheels. The subject comprises methodological approach to the design as well as methods of functional and strength calculations covering the main parts of the above groups. By passing this subject the student should acquire basic knowledge, as necessary for solving design tasks related to the undercarriage component parts.
