Motor Vehicles

The subject acquaints the students with the concept of motor vehicles, design principles and methods of designing groups of gears and undercarriages of motor vehicles, and namely clutches, gear cases and transmissions, axles, steering mechanisms, brake mechanisms, their actuation and control systems, systems of springing and damping, tires and car wheels. By passing this subject the student should acquire a general overview of the functional features of gear groups and undercarriages and their impact upon the operational and utility characteristics of motor vehicles.
