Law in Municipal Engineering

This subject is the continuation of the prior subjects Building and administration law. The student will deepen his/her knowledge of public building law, introduction to private building law.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will learn the meaning of state administration in the field of urban planning and building code. A spatial planning tool with focus on city plans will be discussed. They will gain basic knowledge of the field of water policy. They will be familiar with the Water Act and related legislation.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of water legislative and regulations related to building law.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The information will be passed on in the form of lectures. In the exercises students will work in groups and individually. Each student will prepare a presentation on an assigned topic.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Each student will give a presentation on an assigned topic. The knowledge of the topics will be checked in a test which consists of a written and oral part.

Introduction of importance and mission of national administration in territorial planning and building code.
Basic knowledge of water management policy, ownership relations with the regard to EU legislative.
