Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will learn to the processing of structural a study of construction and the operating schema of buildings a mid-size range, including integration of buildins into the area in relation to the zoning plan and including the requirements for preparing of realization buildings.

Prerequisites

The prerequisite for completing the course is the knowledge structural of building constructions. Knowledges of typology, structural analysis, concrete and steel structures, fire safety, building materials, acoustics and etc. Simultaneously, presupposes knowledge of the urbanism and the urban planning and orientation in legislation and mandatory parts of the EN, ISO.

Co-requisites

The knowledge of the principles of design of a specific construction with relation to choice of an appropriate solution of the construction and urban planing.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Student is guided to individual work. Utilizes basic knowledge obtained by studying of building constructions, catalogs from the manufacturers of building materials and products and follow the instructions and consultation with the teacher.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Assesses the comprehensiveness of construction project for the the structural design and drawing up the coordination of the situation in achieving integration the building into the surrounding buildings the and the study design.

Course curriculum

1.-8. Architectonical design - situation layout, plans, sections, elevations, technical report.
9. Structural design – preliminary design of structural components.
10. Fire protection of a designed building – the special part of the technical report.
11. Building physics demands (U values of constructions, energy consumption balance, airborne and impact sound insulation, building insolation and daylighting - daylight factor).
12. Technical services in buildings (water supply, sanitation equipment, heating and ventilation systems, etc.).
13. Building appraisal (economic indicators for the design building in Eur/m3, Eur/m2).

Work placements

Aims

Aim of the subject is preparation of students for individual work and receiving instructions for successful application of before obtained information and knowledge in individual subjects for achievement of practical output focused on an integrated building design of a middle-sized project. In a pilot project student creates the architectural and building design in accordance to the valid standards for given function of the building. Student also works out a suitable load-bearing structural system and selected building materials. Further he (she) creates layout with location of the building at the selected site and locality.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Extent and forms are specified by guarantor’s regulation updated for every academic year.
