Learning outcomes of the course unit

Student will be able to solve complex engineering tasks based on knowledge from passed technical-economic disciplines the accent is put on the application of traditional principles of value analysis into task solved in construction practice. The student will be able to pursuant the utility theory to determine decision makers and specify criteria for it including their importance. It allows him to create alternative solutions for the future with optimal selection or sorting of a number of variants by use.

Prerequisites

Ability to orientate oneself in the wide spectrum of technical, economic and other disciplines, as socioinformatics etc.

Co-requisites

Suitable are parallel knowledge in the field of engineering mathematics, management activities in construction, engineering work, evaluation of investment efficiency, etc.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures, practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at lectures is optional, but attendance at classes is compulsory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

For successful completion of the course must be obtained accreditation, which is awarded based on attendance to seminars and the development of individual submission. After receiving the credit it is possible to take the exam which has a written and an oral part.

Course curriculum

1. Traditional concept of value analysis and its contemporary position
2. Procedural and product innovations. Value analysis by ČSN-ISO 010120
3. Particular spheres of value analysis usage. Phases of methodical procedure of value analysis
4. Efficient usage principles of value analysis
5. Methods and technical-economic instruments for projects (innovations) evaluation
6. Required professional profile of compiler, resp. team-making
7. Value analysis in civil engineering, contemporary situation
8. New methods in procedural approach. Goals of value analysis in product sphere

9. Resources optimalization for construction process
