Diploma seminar I (R)

The course summarizes the knowledge acquired during study of realization of constructions. The output is a semester thesis that includes selected parts of the building-technology study of the construction supplier, with the possibility to take into account the specific features of particular building companies participating in the teaching process and practical training of the student. A stress is laid on acquisition of knowledge of the area of modelling of the main technology construction phases, time and financial construction plan and draft conception of the site plant under consideration of the quantity, safety and environmental requirement at the construction.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will gain knowledge for elaborating construction technology project and parts of the building contractor´s production preparation documentation . This comprises above all knowledge for elaborating main technological stages implementation study of a building project, time schedule and financial plan, bill of quantities and a budget for a selected part of the building project. Also, knowledge for source evaluation elaborating and site equipment concept

Prerequisites

Especially in areas of construction planning, technology of constructions, building-technological designing, computer aided jobs in building industry, economical tools of the building operations management and project management of constructions.

Co-requisites

Gradual, concurrent completion of knowledge of specific construction processes and usage of construction computer programmes.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Tuition consists of regular consultation sessions with the teacher , independent elaboration of assigned parts of project documentation and presenting elaborated parts of the project

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Compulsory attendance of the seminar, regular consultations of work progress at given parts of the construction technology study is required for a successful course completion. Submitting elaborated assigned parts of construction technology project of the assigned building is required for the credit.

Course curriculum

1.Project assignment in cooperation with the building company participating in the education – depending on the student´s specialization, definition of the scope of the solved project.
2.Bulding-technology study, realization of the main technology construction stages.
3.Computer air – bills of quality, quotation budget
4.Time and financial construction plan, rough balance of the basic resource.
5.Coordination of subcontractors.
6.Conception of the site plant, plans of selected site plant units.
7.Technology regulation of the selected partial construction process.
8.Contractural requirements for the construction realization.

Aims

The task of this course is to provide the students with knowledge required for elaboration of pre-production preparation documents based on the particular building or construction, namely especially from the point of view of the building contractor.
