Building Economics

Sectional course. Fundaments of the problematic of technical economical disciplines (technical standardisation, rewarding, calculations), economical disciplines (prices, accounting, financing, taxes, investments), commercial and management disciplines (marketing, management, project management). Application of general knowledge on the construction company. Link to the building law and technical construction disciplines.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Ability to interpret economic relations in the company. Knowledge of construction management from an economic perspective, of the costs and prices, of investment decision-making and of.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of fundamental economic terminology and relations. Basics of macroeconomic and microeconomic theories.

Co-requisites

Knowledge from sociological theory to future job of absolvents in building firms, architectural workplaces and technical practice.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures, practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at lectures is optional, but attendance at classes is compulsory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Award of the credit is conditioned by participation on practices and successful passed written test (min. 60 points, total sum 100 points). Written exam - series of question oriented in general knowledge and their aplication in examples, total sum 100 points. Limits for each grade of evaluation will be set. The limit for oral exam aproval is 50. Oral exam is the supplement to written exam. The objective of oral exam is to prove deeper understanding of the issue.
