Enviromental Engineering

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Objective of the course is obtaining of knowledge about indoor microclimate and technical resources to its creation. the alumns:
will be able to distinguish factors affecting the quality indoor microclimate of buildings,
will be able to analyze the quality of air and design measure to find its ideal conditions ,
will be able to evaluate thermal balance of the human body and assess human heat stress in defined working conditions
will be aware of hygienic requirements for workplace and will be able to design technical measure to their ensuring,
will have a survey about energetic systems of buildings
will be able to determine energy consumption to operate heating system, cooling system, air conditioning system, hot water preparation and lighting.
will have knowledge of environment engineering system in buildings with low power consumption

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge about heating system, cooling system and air conditioning
Secondary school knowledge about physics, especially thermomechanics
Knowledge about thermal engineering

Co-requisites

Knowledge about sustainable construction

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through lectures, practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at lectures is optional, but attendance at classes is compulsory.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Participation in the exercise at least 80%.
Work out all given tasks in the exercises.
Written examinations.
