Computer Technology II - 2D modelling

The subject provides basic information in the field of graphic vector editors and their use in architectural design. It covers the fundamentals of 2D computer graphics and the practical use of the theoretical knowledge at work with vector editor AutoCAD 2010.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

The student is capable of electronically working out 2 D drawing documentation.

Prerequisites

The students have basic command of work with PC, Internet and basic knowledge of computer graphics.

Co-requisites

Student in his own proposal addresses the construction or territory, deepen their knowledge of theoretical categories, get an overview of trends, directions and works of contemporary architecture, become acquainted with the technical principles of design of buildings. All in the context of the history and development of the field and visual presentation.

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Classified credit - submission of partial and final assignments in required terms.

Course curriculum

- introduction to CAD: coordinates, objects, AutoCAD 2010 environment, AutoCAD objects properties (color, linetype, layer etc.)
- geometrical transformations: moving (copying), rotating, mirroring, scaling; transformation of coordinates
- drawing of basic 2D AutoCAD objects (point, line, polyline, xline, ray, circle, arc, ellipse, spline etc.)
- editing of basic 2D AutoCAD objects
- hatches, dimensions, texts
- layouts and printing
- blocks
- overview
- final assignment

The subject's objective is to master the procedures that enable the studens to work out independently 2D drawing documentation.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
