Course detail

Reliability and Diagnostics of Production Machines

FSI-GSD-KAcad. year: 2011/2012

The subject is focused on the most sophisticated knowledge in reliability and diagnostics of production facilities. The questions from the theoretical principles of reliability, reliability tests and the collection of failure and repair data are discussed. Attention should be paid to the technical diagnostics and the methods and the diagnostic tools of production facilities which can be met during various cases. Emphasis is laid on the diagnostics under machine operation and on the advanced diagnostics.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Pursuant to the annotation aforementioned, the students will acquire the comprehensive and complex knowledge in the reliability and diagnostics field including completing the knowledge in production facility designing. Based on the knowledge acquired, the students can participate in solving different problems related to the areas in question.

Prerequisites

The basic knowledge in the production facility designing as well as the principles of mathematics and physics at the university level are assumed.

Co-requisites

Not applicable.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The teaching practice depends on the teaching methods which are described in the Study and Test Guideline, Article 7, and be effective at the Brno University of Technology.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The subject consists of lectures and consultations.
The subject is completed by the credit, and the students shall be met with credit requirements at the beginning of the semester. One scored test shall be included in tutorials. The student may achieve the scoring of up to 20.
The prescribed scope must be studied by the students to go in an examination. The examination consists of a written test, and the maximum scoring rate of this test is 80. The final scoring rate of the subject shall be summed of the tutorial and examination scoring, and it is classified according to the ECTS classification scale.

Aims

The objective of the subject is to gain the theoretical and practical experience in reliability and diagnostics fields of production facilities.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

The students’ participation in tutorials shall be checked (the participation of 100% shall be required), and the students have to pass the prescribed test during the last but one tutorial.
