The course is concerned with the development of fine art, architecture, arts and crafts and design in modern times - the 2nd part: Classicism, Historical Romanticism, Neo-styles, Art nouveau, beginnings of Modern Art (19th century).

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Basic information in history of visual art in Classicism, Historic romanticism, Neo-styles, Art nouveau and application of styles to the contemporary creation.

Prerequisites

Development of visual arts, arts and crafts and design from the beginnings to the 18th century (see the "History of visual art I and II" courses).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The exam verifies global orientation and knowledge of the development in the visual art of the given period and relationship to the previous development and to the present. The exam consists of written and oral parts. According to the article No. 13 of Study and Examination Rules of Brno University of Technology ECTS evaluation degree scale is used. The course is evaluated with the following grades: ECTS EVALUATION DEGREES / PTS. RATING / NUMERIC RATING: A / 100 - 90 / 1 / Excellent; B /89 - 80 / 1,5 / Very good; C / 79 - 70 / 2 / Good; D / 69 - 60 / Satisfactory; E / 59 - 50 / Sufficient; F / 49 - 0 / 4 / Failed.
