Knowledge Management

The course expects basic knowledge acquired in related courses, in the field of Management, IT, Decision-making method. In the course “Knowledge management” students will apply the knowledge acquired in the above mentioned fields and will summarize it in the end of the semester in the form of a semester work. This semester work will be locates to apply of knowledge for decision-making. This semester work closes the semester.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be familiar with the method of getting and exploitation of knowledge for management of company. Next students will be familiar with the basic method of data mining. Students will be learnt to use the result of the data mining to solve of decision-making in the company.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to have the following knowledge and skills: Management (function of management), Strategic management (SLEPT analysis, Porter model, SWOT analysis).

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The graded course unit-credit is awarded on the following conditions:
1. Active participation in the meetings will be checked and evaluated by the teacher - max. 100 points.
2. Successful elaboration of a semester work in a defined term - max. 100 points.
3. Successful completion of a credit test - max. 100 points.
4. Total amount of points required for a course-unit credit has to be higher than 225 points.

Aims

The purpose of the subject is to provide students with import of knowledge for company and their management. The next aim is to provide students with the basic conception of knowledge management for company and presented the basic trend new knowledge society.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Checking of individual study results on engaged tasks. In the case of excused absence, the teacher may set in justified cases a make-up condition, usually working out of a partial task.
