Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

The oral exam, where knowledge from lectures and recommended literature will be evaluated.
Part of exam is presentation of semestral work which is focused on recycling of selected commodity close to disertation. Project structure: Reference to relevant environmental protection laws, the theoretical basics of treatment/recycling/reuse technology, practical example (economy, references, realized plants, research), self-evaluation of procedure, conclusion, sources of information. Form: .ppt file or .doc file, approx. 10 min speech, tables, diagrams, charts.

Course curriculum

Production and separation of waste. Recycling of waste. Biodegradable waste. Sludge from municipal wastewater treatment plants. Glass. Paper. Plastics. Textiles. Metals. Legislation.
