Original Abstract

The article deals with design and optimization of concrete mixture based on alkali activated secondary materials – blast furnace slag and fly ash. Sodium hydroxide together with cement kiln dust was used as an activator. The objective was to develop a concrete suitable for prefabricate manufacturing, cheaper than a Portland cement based concrete while maintaining the same properties. Mechanical properties were studied using compressive strength tester. Microstructural and composition study was based on SEM-EDX and XRD analysis.
