Original Abstract

The contribution describes some of the most frequent methods of strengthening of structures and providing satisfactory static reliability, namely -Spatial rigidity of constructions (especially in horizontal direction) in terms of using prestressed/non-prestressed members, -Improving load-carrying capacity of horizontal structures by bonded steel/organic reinforcement, -Bandage treatment of compressive loaded structures by steel rolled sections, -Change of the static scheme of the origin load-carrying structure (struts, hanging braces, additional supports). The methods are documented with the realised projects on which solutions the author has participated. It is described the origin state of a construction, changes required and the purpose of the particular repair, important static aspects of design solution and the state of a construction after the completion.
