Original Abstract

Unlike primary biometric traits, soft biometric traits are those characteristics that provide some information about the individual, but lack the distinctiveness and permanence to sufficiently differentiate any two individuals (e.g. gender, age, body measurements, etc). This paper deals with proposal of a method for hair detection and hair color recognition in facial image. The method involves algorithms of image processing such as skin color detection, active contours, k-means cluster-ing and neural network.
