New two-year MsC curriculum has been suggested for students interested in biomedical engineering and in ecological technology in 2001. This design has been a part of the study reform, introducing the two-stage study system (BSc, MSc), which substantially influences the way of study. Before that being only an orientation in frame of other specialization branches, the biomedical and ecological engineering became an independent study branch at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication of Brno University of Technology. The concept of the curriculum, which is a compromise solution determined by the many constrains, and the present state of development will be described in the lecture.
