Original Abstract

The paper deals with design and application of an optical receiver for single photon detection using avalanche photodiode. The optical receiver serves for single-photon optical wireless link using a new method - quantum key distribution. The method, known as quantum cryptography, is suitable for transmission of short encrypted messages.
