Original Abstract

In the first part of this contribution, the design of a planar microstrip filter is described. Descriptions are focused in solving the corrections of the size of the microstrip inductors and capacitors. A size correction is implemented in the Optimization Toolbox of MATLAB. In the second part, artificial neural networks (ANN) are used. We briefly describe why neural networks are used, but we mainly describe an approach to building selected ANN. M-files for working with ANN are implemented in the Neural Network Toolbox of MATLAB.
