Original Abstract

Experimental study of acoustic emission and partial discharge current pulses have been conducted on ceramic tiles and insulating foils for applied constant and ramp voltage. The VA characteristic and polarisation current time dependence were analysed. Cracks and gas bubbles are significant sources of partial discharge and this property was used for technology assessment and quality testing.
