Original Abstract

The paper presents the results of the measurements of discharge currents in materials for high-temperature applications as a function of time and temperature. The discharge characteristics turn out to have in the log(I)-log(t) coordinate system a linear shape, which indicates the same time-independent conduction mechanism. Relaxation mechanisms were not observed. The observation of trustworthy and repeatable results necessitates an exactly defined manipulation with the samples both during the measurement as well as between consecutive measurements. The relation between discharge currents and characteristics of partial discharges was not proved.
