Original Abstract

The heat-insulation properties of building materials are nowadays of still greater importance considering the increasing costs for energy, which is necessary for securing the thermal stability of building objects. Besides of classical heat-insulation materials during the last years many new materials appeared at the market, which have apart from heat – insulation properties even other positive advantages for instance good acoustical properties, good possibility to build them into structures etc. Between these new building materials belongs the heat-insulating fill CLIMATEX, developed in the building-physics laboratory in the Institute of Building Materials and Components of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. CLIMATEX is a mixture of mineralized wood particles with different grain size composition, which has excellent heat-technical and acoustical properties.
