Original Abstract

For fracture specimens of finite thickness, the stress-state in the region where the crack front intersects the free surfaces orthogonally is still an unsolved issue. The authors of the contribution focused on the problem of stress distribution through the thickness of elastic body from three various analytical concepts. The effect of Poisson's ratio on the calculated fracture parameters is examined. Variations of the stress intensity factors, T-stress and generalized stress intensity factors with thickness of the edge cracked plates are presented. The physical significance of the results is discussed and the phenomena observed are explained.
