Original Abstract

The objective of this paper is to map the main grounds for an IPO according to current theory, and to compare them to practical approaches to this form of financing in companies which have already launched IPO's on the Czech capital market. To attain the objectives, research based on the collection of secondary and primary data was carried out. Secondary data was obtained from both domestic and foreign scholarly literature. Primary data was obtained in consultation with representatives of companies (CEOs) who have launched IPO's in the Czech Republic.
