Original Abstract

It was found that absorption of dye to natural or synthetic polymer fibres treated by low-temperature plasma was increased approximately by 10% to 15%, in comparison with untreated fibres in the same conditions of dyeing. It was necessary to expose this material to by plasma for 5 minutes at least to get this effect. Longer exposition does not increase the polarity of matrix and consequential absorption any more. On contrary, very short exposition times improve dyeing distinctively. Further more, it was found that optical and mechanical qualities of both treated and untreated fibres and fabrics are almost identical.
