Original Abstract

Humic acids represent complex natural material, which shows many valuable physical and chemical properties. Because of high sorption ability it contributes to the native self- detoxification of soil and sediments and also provides the promising substrate for an artificial production of soil remediation agents, industrial sorbents etc. Humic acids are gained from their rich alternative natural sources - peat, young coal etc. - by simple and cheap methods of extraction and purification in a form of fine powder soluble in alkalines. Hence, numerous papers focus on a study of humic acids powder or humate solutions. Nevertheless, none of these forms is suitable for the direct application in agriculture or industry. Submitted contribution introduces several laboratory procedures developed for the preparation of new humic acids -based colloids (hydrogels, flakes and beads) with the discussion of their applicability.
