Original Abstract

This paper describes practical usage of acoustic holography method for modal analysis of vibrating steel beam. Sound field near the beam surface is measured with linear microphone array and calculation of sound pressure and sound intensity levels very near surface has been performed. An acoustic holography method for visualization of pressure or intensity field has been optimalized and tuned for specific real conditions of measurement. Localization of nodes and antinodes on the beam with this method has been succesfully carried out and compared with measurement of natural frequencies of the beam with accelerometers. Non-contact method based on measurement with microphone array and calculation of sound fields by acoustic holography algorithms has significant advantages in compare with contact methods.
