English abstract

The paper presents the composition and properties of some specialty types of concrete and steel-concrete structural parts possessing desired performance optimized for a given purpose. For the preparation of high-performance and self-compacting concretes, finely ground granulated blast furnace slag as a separate component was used to decrease the content of portlanc cement and thus the hydration heat, which consequently decreases the formation of microcracks. Polycarboxylate type superplasticizer makes it possible to lower the water/cement ratio under 0.35. As aggregate, the fused bauxite and especially ground basalt exhibiting high strengths was used. The properties of fresh and hardened concrete are significantly influenced by the kind and amount of microaggregate. Dense microstructure and low porosity enhances the corrosion resistance and long-term durability, which is one of the main requirements of the produced composites.
