Original Abstract

The paper deals with problems of the central burst defect prediction in axisymmetric cold drawing of the brass bar. The problem is analyzed numerically by using 2D finite element analysis (FEA). The quantitative influence of process parametrs (the diameter reduction ratio, the die semi-angle, the friction coefficient) on the stress - strain hystory are studied and qualitative comparison with some available experimental data are given. The paper presents the results of geometry effect on the occurrence of central bursting.
