Original Abstract

The Mostiste Dam on the River Oslava is a rockfill dam with a relatively thin inclined impervous core. Completed in 1960, the dam is the oldest compacted rockfill dam in the Czech Republic (cz), and is some 29 m high and 292 m long. This paper sets out the results of analyses cocncerning the progress of damage, surveys and reasons for the emergency situation at Mostiste. The analysis of internal erosion symptoms is described together with the algorithm and results of the dam break model.
