Original Abstract

This paper is focused on the influence of the size and geometry of the specimen made of quasi-brittle material on fracture characteristics determined from fracture tests. The courses of fracture energy during the fracture process are studied. The relation between these functions and the specimen size and geometry is investigated. The effect of structural geometry on its fracture behaviour is described by tools of two parametr fracture mechanics. The research is conducted by means of numerical simulations of fracture tests with several specimen sizes and in three testing configurations with different constraint conditions.
