Original Abstract

The understanding of novel physical, chemical, biological, optical, electronic, magnetic and other phenomena and material properties will bring an interdisciplinary approach to the Nanotechnology. Its principal goal is to model, simulate, design and manufacture nanostructures and nanodevices. Hence, the society needs people who think, measure, engineer on the nanometre scale, and who must possess strong multidisciplinary skills. The main objective of new course on Nanotechnology, opened in 2004, is to inform Electrical Engineering Magister students with almost no background in quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics about basic concepts of Nanoscience and their variety. The paper describes some experience obtained in interactive course during last two years with 80 students.

Porozumění novým jevům z fyziky, chemie, biologie, optiky, elektroniky, magnetismu a materiálových věd umožní interdisciplinární přístup k nanotechnologii. Základním cílem nanotechnologie je modelování, návrh a výroba nanostruktur a nanosoučástek a nanosystémů. Společnost potřebuje lidi, kteří dovedou myslet, měřit a konstruovat v nanoměřítku, k čemuž právě potřebují multuidisciplinární dovednosti. Hlavním cílem nového kursu, otevřeného v r. 2004, je informovat studenty, kteří prakticky nemají základy kvantové a statistické mechaniky o rozmanitosti základních principů, kterými se řídí nanotechnologie.Článek přináší zkušenosti získané při interaktivním kursu v průběhu posledních dvou let na souboru 80 studentů.
