Original Abstract

The paper deals with the effect of structural geometry on the description of fracture behaviour of quasi-brittle materials by equivalent elastic crack approach. Particularly it is focused on the geometry effect on an R-curve shape. The effect is investigated in the paper using characteristics of stress constraint at the crack tip, for which the theory of two-parameter fracture mechanics is employed.
