Original Abstract

In this paper, novel DGS resonators with low resonant frequency and their equivalent circuits were presented. The resonators parameters were compared with well-known dumbell DGS. Significantly lower resonant frequencies were achieved keeping identical outer dimensions. Next, four simple lowpass filters were designed using proposed resonators. Frequency characteristics were similar to an elliptic filter response. Very sharp cutoff, good stopband rejection and compact size was achieved.
