Original Abstract

The submitted paper deals with possibility to use power plant and heat plant slag in thermal insulating fire clay. The goal of experimental works was verification of possibility of using waste materials from heat plants (slag) as an opening material in thermal insulating fire clay material which would not be produced by drawing from plastic paste on a screw press but from wetted material (crumbs) by pressing on a hydraulic press. Pressing from half wetted material has several advantages. From ecologic point of view this technology is profitable as waste product is being processed as well as harmful emission content originating during burning of shaped products is significantly lower when using non-buring-out lightweighting material (lightweighted fire clay opening material, slag, cenospheres, fly ash). From economic point of view, raw material costs for production significantly decrease when using waste products in material content and also heat energy savings are not insignificant during product drying when water amount being dried-up is two thirds lower that during production from plastic paste.
