Original Abstract

Short and long-terms experimental tests on concrete blocks strengthen with CFRP reinforcement are described. Short-terms tests serve as a base for design of strengthening. Long-terms tests examine the influence of time on the strengthened elements and on the changes in their behaviour. The short-terms experiment involves a series of the tests on a concrete specimens, on which distinct lengths of CFRP glued reinforcement were applied. These specimens demonstrate the behaviour of a reinforcing element under tension and adhesion between individual layers in the reinforcing area. For the long-terms experiments, the pre-cracked RC floor panels, subsequently strengthened with several different types of reinforcement (CFRP strips, carbon and glass fabric) were used.
