Original Abstract

The transition from the communist regime to a market economy in 1989, the financial crisis in 2009 and 2013, and the pandemic COVID-19 have brought to the fore the longstanding issues in the field of housing in the Czech Republic. As was observed in many other European countries, the Czech Republic is facing housing insecurity and cities are challenged by a shortage of housing supply. The issue of housing affordability is demonstrated on the cities of Brno and Vienna.
