Original Abstract

In the process of vehicle dynamics analysis, the tire forces need to be either measured or estimated. This paper presents the development of wheel torque measurement system that improves accuracy of inverse multibody model developed by experts at Institute of Automotive Engineering at Brno University of Technology. Results show that such system can be designed from scratch by using available hardware that costs fraction of what professional equipment costs. Cost availability was also the main motivation for the development of the device so that it could be produced in small series to bring down the cost for the use in fleet vehicle testing.
