Original Abstract

Lattice Discrete Particle Model (LDPM) is a modelling approach that aims to simulate the behaviour of concrete at the level of individual aggregates, allowing for the high-fidelity simulation of fracture processes. Detailed geometry is obtained by tessellation, which creates interconnected rigid particles. Constitutive equation at the contact of the particles defines the traction response of the material based on strains between the particles. The present work describes a specific implementation of the LDMP constitutive equation into an existing in-house software. The concept of the model is introduced in the context of other modelling approaches, followed by a detailed description of the constitutive equation itself and its implementation. Finally, results obtained by the model are presented and discussed.
