Original Abstract

We evaluated the effect of oxygen adsorption/desorption and consequent formation of depletion layer on electrical properties of single-nanowire device by comparing the measurements in synthetic air and in nitrogen atmosphere. The thermodynamics of the effect is useful for better control of self-heating effect and better understanding of factors influencing the depletion layer that plays the crucial role in gas sensing mechanism of metal-oxide based resistive nanosensors.
