Original Abstract

The paper is focused on a statistical and sensitivity analysis using Polynomial Chaos Expansion (PCE) as a surrogate model. First, the basic theory of surrogate modelling via PCE and a developed software tool is presented. The SW tool is then applied during stochastic analysis of prestressed concrete roof girders failing in shear. Obtained results of statistical and sensitivity analysis are discussed with a special attention to different types of sensitivity analysis, specifically Sobol' indices and nonparametric rank-order statistical correlation. As can be seen from results, PCE represents very efficient method for reliability analysis especially in case of highly time consuming non-linear finite element models.
