Original Abstract

The presented paper deals with identification of management styles practiced by managers in medium-sized and large industrial companies established in the region of South Moravia in the Czech Republic. Based on factor analysis, eight personality characteristics and ways of behaviour of managers have been determined. The obtained factors are subsequently used as the content of management styles applied by managers. The visionary style is the leadership style most frequently applied in industrial companies within the researched territory; the manager's future orientation, visionary behaviour, ability to predict as well as the ability to form a team, integrate and coordinate it in the desired direction, are among the typical features.
