Original Abstract

The paper deals with the issue of heat transfer in the structure of fibre insulators under low air pressure (close to a vacuum). In the course of studying the behaviour of fibrous insulators suitable for the production of vacuum insulating panels, it was found that the dependence of thermal conductivity at a vacuum on temperature is significantly affected by the orientation of the fibres, relative to the direction of the heat flux. This makes it possible to better describe the arrangement of the fibre structure of the thermal insulators, and can be applied to the study of heat exchange through the fibre structures under normal pressure.
