Original Abstract

Many highly potent low molecular antitumor drugs suffer from severe off-target toxicity, such as the cardiotoxicity of doxorubicin (DOX) or hematological toxicity of tyrosine kinase inhibitors. Therefore, their encapsulation in nano-sized carriers able to deliver the drug molecules selectively to tumor cells, while avoiding the healthy ones, can prove beneficial. But choosing the correct material for such a nanocarrier can be a quite daunting challenge.
