Radiografie, která využívala gamazářičů, se po řadu let jevila jako optimální diagnostická metoda při posuzování železobetonových konstrukcí a konstrukcí z předpjatého betonu. Nároky na přepravu krytů s gamazářiči, na kontrolugamazářičů a kontrolu krytů způsobily, že jejich přechovávání a využívání přestalo být v oblasti stavebnictví rentabilní a hledají se jiné způsoby jak potřebné diagnostické údaje o stavbách zajistit. Jedním z řešení je využití průmyslových rentgenů, které jsou však primárně zhotoveny na kontrolu svarů. Jako další možnost je využití metod, založených na jiných fyzikálních základech, jako je použití georadaru a magnetického indikátoru výztuže.

Radiography used by gamazarists has been an optimal diagnostic method for the assessment of reinforced concrete structures and pre-stressed concrete structures for many years. Claims for shipment of shields, scouting, and shelter control have rendered their storage and use no longer profitable in the construction sector, and other ways are sought to ensure the necessary diagnostic data on the buildings. One solution is the use of industrial X-rays, but they are primarily made to control welds. Another possibility is the use of methods based on other physical bases, such as the use of a georadar and a magnetic indicator of the reinforcement.
