Original Abstract

The paper deals with the assessment of the pollution of the streams at the Brno area due to releases from storm water separators. The present state was compared with the newly proposed system for six water quality indicators, namely BOD, COD, Ammonia nitrogen, total Nitrogen and Phosphorus and undissolved solids. The effect of the system proposed was assessed for two hydrological scenarios characterised by Qa and Q270. The comparison was carried out using dynamic stream water quality model. The results of the solution are expressed in terms of concentration of individual pollutants. The solution proved considerable improvement of the stream water quality during storm events.
