Original Abstract

The paper describes power line communication (PLC) technologies and narrowband PLC standards. The analysis of available narrowband PLC modems was presented. Based on this analysis the G3-PLC standard and a solution from Maxim were chosen for implementation of hybrid PLC-wireless module for street lighting control or Smart Metering applications. Finally, in the last part of the paper the results of experimental measurement of data rate of PLC module were introduced.
