Vnitřní prostředí budov je vystaveno řadě vlivů. Ze všech složek vytvářejících interní klima se zaměříme na výskyt oxidu uhličitého. Budeme sledovat jeho roli při formování prostředí a působení na lidský organizmus. Přesto, že poznatek o koncentraci CO2 souvisí s indikováním potřeby větrání, zatím v naprosté většině obytných domů nenachází potřebnou odezvu. Za velmi přísných požadavků je nejen při navrhování, ale i při provozování budov zohledněn v energeticky úsporných – pasivních domech, kde splnění hygienicky nutných kritérií nebrání ani těsnost obálky.

Inner environment is exposed to a number of effects. Out of all the components which form the in-house climate we will focus on the presence of carbon dioxide. We will monitor its role in shaping the environment and the effect on the human body. Despite the fact that the knowledge of the CO2 concentration is connected with a ventilation demand, it does not receive a necessary response in the vast majority of residential buildings. This knowledge is under very strict requirements reflected not only in design, but also in operation of energy saving – passive houses where compliance of mandatory hygiene criteria is not prevented even by the tightness of the envelope.
