Original Abstract

The development and expansion of information technologies reveals more and more new possibilities of utilisation of these technologies for facilitation of communication of healthcare centres with the general public and assurance of maximum education and comfort of patients. New is for example on-line visit booking and on-line consultations or improved web sites of hospitals and individual outpatient surgeries. The purpose of this article is to show to the readers the extent to which private general practitioners in South Moravia Region use the various options of electronic healthcare IT, especially the option of electronic contact with their patients. For that purpose an inquiry was done among the practitioners and this article shows results of the subsequently performed analysis of the collected questionnaires.
