Original Abstract

FPGAs are widely used for their versatility and speed. Their advantage lies in the parallel processing of instructions in a program in FPGA. The circuit of FPGA in combination with logarithmic a preamplifier is able to quickly process the measured data and send them to the PC for the further processing (storage, graph). The paper describes our developed compact AE system with a logarithmic preamplifier for fracture monitoring. The system is based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), which recalculates digitized logarithmic signal to linear scale and provides elementary identification of AE events and their AE features.
